The final day of school induction became so special for me. Today I got an invigilation duty at 10 D from 10 am to 11.15am. It was good watching the pupils writing the exam.  At 11.50 am I took a physics class on the chapter wave motion in grade 9 D. Firstly I interacted with the children and slowly entered to the subject. I used slinky and tunning fork to explain the concept of waves and the children was so curious to observe this small apparatus taken from the lab. The active participation of the children were evident and they asked doubts. After taking the session I asked questions and felt proud seeing their responses. I was thinking how keenly they are listening the teacher and absorb the things so fast. The answers were coming from the unexpected children which made me wonder. After that class, I understood the purpose of my life and why I should do B.Ed. It was a proud moment and a great experience being a teacher. Afternoon got an opportunity to attend Cineja Ma'am ch

Today GMGHSS celebrated International mother tongue day. The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. UNESCO believes in the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity for sustainable societies. We MTTC student teachers had a significant role in the celebration and performed various duties related to it. Today we all reached the school at 8am. We decorated the school premises and the auditorium with balloons and ribbons. The entire strength of the school was evident today. All the children came to the school after a long break, saying a little goodbye to the online mode. At 11am sharp the program started and it was inaugurated by the educational and labour minister of Kerala, Sri.V Sivankutty. One of the Student Police Cadet delivered the language pledge penned by the writer M T Vasudevan Nair during Mother Tongue Day celebratio

“WORK HARD, BE KIND AND AMAZING THINGS WILL HAPPEN.” – CONAN O’BRIEN It was the 3rd day of the school induction. At the main gate entrance of the school saw small cutie kids carrying bags larger than them walking into the school with their parents. It made me remember my school days.  As usual we reported on time. We got an opportunity to observe a class in Higher Secondary section. And we visited grade 11, saw Rejani ma'am teaching the chapter Gravitation in Physics. It was a good experience.  Around 11am there was a Traffic Awareness Programme organised by Junior Red Cross. The guest was Rajesh Kumar,a police officer working in wireless wing. The awareness programme was very informative for the students which conveyed the importance of traffic rules, the speed limit, driving licence and so on. During afternoon, I and my friend Sreelekshmi was called upon by the high school physics teachers to arrange the science laboratory. We helped them in arranging

“EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO UNLOCKING THE WORLD, A PASSPORT TO FREEDOM.” – OPRAH WINFREY Another happier day passed. As usual we reported at 9am, marked the attendence and  carried out our duties associated with the school induction. We collected the administrative details of high school section , higher secondary section and visited various labs and libraries. Senior assistant Minimol ma'am was very cooperative and gave us the necessary details regarding the school. We sorted  the details collected by all of us.  Then we went for the class room observation, we felt goosebumps when children called us teacher. At that moment we experienced the dignity and love given by the children. And on hearing the tone of 'Good Morning Teacher...', it make us remember our school days. Our seniors were taking the session, they took the class very  beautifully in well explained manner. The teachers had an interactive session with the children and response of the childr

"The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet" ~ Aristotle As part of school induction we visited Government Model for Girls Higher Secondary School, Pattom. Around 9am, 14 of us (Athira, Arundathi, Raghi, Ganga, Jini, Sona, Naveena, Safana, Ashmitha, Arsna, Sreelekshmi, Nimmy, Ami and Yamuna) reached infront of the school gate having discussions regarding the visit with a little bit of fear and anxiety. I was so happy and proud to see the changes took place in the school as I was an old student of GMGHSS since 2015 .  Our team was led by Safana of Natural Science and Naveena of Maths. Captain of the ship was our dear Maya ma'am who resolved our ambiguities and guided us. Firstly we met the school principal, we handed over the permission letter and attendence register. The instructions were given by the vice principal and we were sent to the auditorium where we met the trainee teacher's and got an idea of the school atmosphere.

Valentine's day special

Image
Valentine’s Day is a day where people celebrate love, romance, and those who mean the most to them. People think of the best Valentine’s Day ideas for their special someone, the perfect gifts to get them, and how to make those they love feel like a million bucks.  The truth about Valentine’s Day is a bit mysterious. We know it’s named after St. Valentine, but who was he? Several legends explain who St. Valentine was, with one of the most popular theories being he was a priest who officiated the weddings of soldiers during the third century AD. During this time, Roman emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of creating stronger soldiers. Legend has it that Claudius found out about St. Valentine’s actions and put him to death, making St. Valentine a martyr for love. MTTC too celebrated the valentine's day. For that we purchased the essentials required for the valentine's decor.  Students of MTTC created a valentine's corner with ph

A Teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart! Finally that day came where we got an opportunity to showcase ourselves -our assembly !  We are proud to say that our teamwork and the support of our mentor Neena ma'am made this assembly a successful one. We came to know about the assembly yesterday only and within half a  day we organised everything. “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” – Henry Ford The assembly commenced with the morning prayer which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls. Then college anthem, pledge, thought for the day, news and importance of the week was presented.  There was a speech on "women in science" , a virtual tour  was organised related to the same and a puzzle was created to identify the personality of "women in science" in India. Tessy Thomas was given for the puzzle.   Cosmos logo was released which carried the moto &quo

"Hi Eagle✋"

Image
The king of birds - 'THE EAGLE' visited MTTC and said "Hi" to our teachers. This majestic bird holds a special place in many people's hearts - they are a symbol of courage and strength.  Here is a video of eagle, shared  by our teachers. Also I'm sharing a inspiring story of eagle and raven. The only bird that dares to peck an eagle is the raven. It sits on the eagle’s back and bites its neck. However, the eagle doesn’t respond or fight with the raven. It does not spend time or energy with the raven. It just opens its wings and begins to fly higher in the sky. The higher the flight, the harder it is for the raven to breathe and the raven eventually falls due to lack of oxygen. Not all battles we need to respond to??? Not all arguments or critics we need to respond to or answer back???. Just lift a standard, the opposition will fall off! ?? Stop wasting time with the ‘ravens around us’. Just take them to your height and they’ll fade away. The enemie
