Welcome 2022

Image
It is the last blog of this year, so I wish to share the new year eve of Fort Kochi, a charming seaside area and the western part of the Kochin city. The immoral beauty of fort Kochi lies in the old monuments, the churches, the beaches and so on. The Christmas and New year celebrations can be seen eminently, where the public hotspots are decorated and each and every houses are embellished with decors and illumination lights.  Fort Kochi is soaked in festive mood even though the carnival rally and burning of Pappanji is dropped due to the pandemic. It's worth visiting Fort Kochi during this season.  Cheers to a new year and it's a chance for us to believe and move forward with more strength and hope. Here I'm sharing a video which illustrates the new year events of Fort Kochi.  Happy New year to all my dear teachers and friends !!!!!!πŸ’—.

SWARGAM

Image
" One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things ."~ Henry Miller The Christmas days become yet another beautiful memory because of ' Swargam '.  As the name suggests it's really a heaven, 'Swargam' is a restaurant situated in Koppanalil Road, Kumbalam, Ernakulam. It's filled with golden lights and hanging decors made of coconut shells. There are hot spots to take selfies. The Swargam beef and Swargam chicken are the highlights. Also the kulfi store adds more taste to the eternal vibe. Beside in ' Swargam' there is Vembanad lake where stone benches and walkway are properly maintained. We can see the beautiful sun set and the flickering of the lake water that flows. The concert arranged over there make us relax and it's soothing. Sitting on the stone bench, hearing music, eating a kulfi, seeing the lights, the breeze and the lake view is a magnificent feel that brings serenity and joy.

On the way to Kochi, we decided to visit some devotional places in search of serenity.  First we went to Parumala Church. Parumala is a small stretch of land on the shores of the river Pampa. Parumala church is the tomb church of Saint Geevarghese Mar Gregorios or Parumala Thirumeni. He died on 2 November 1902 at the age of 54. The funeral was conducted at Parumala on 3 November 1902 in the presence of thousands of people and hundreds of priests. Many testimonies to the saintly intercession of Mar Gregorios made Parumala Church and the tomb a centre of pilgrimage. In 1947 Mar Gregorios of blessed memory was declared a saint by the then Catholicos of the church, His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II. Secondly we went to St. George Orthodox Valiya Pally  which is a prominent church that belongs to the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. This church is situated beside the Puthuppally - Changanassery road about a kilometre from the Puthuppally junction, on the eastern bank of the

23 December will be always a memory to remember. It was the very first Christmas celebration at MTTC. All Physical Science student teachers had a uniformity in their dress. The student teacher's were engaged in coordinating various Christmas events and some of the people were busy with the last minute trial for the Christmas programmes.   All of a sudden we planned to set a dance  and we practiced during the lunch break. Finally we performed on the stage and we enjoyed performing. Also we won second prize for the Christmas card making competition and we got surprising gifts.  After the Christmas events, we cut a cake and wished Merry Christmas to each other and said goodbye πŸ«‚.

Every optional student teacher's actively took part in the competition and it was really a tough one to judge. All the Christmas cards were equally brilliant and it was a visual treat to see the wonders that the student teachers had created. The rules and regulations were given by them, like the size of the card, the crafty materials need to be used and so on. The first prize goes to Natural science department and their card is shown below. The pop up card highlights the art of calligraphy, the elements of Christmas and the Christmas message.  The second prize goes to Physical Science department and their card is shown below. Their gestures had the meaning of love and lots of emotions through which they interacted with us. The MTTC student teachers made the day vibrant through their spectacular performances which spreaded happiness.  Towards the end Dr.Gibi Varghese our mentor handovered the Christmas cake and the money collected from the student teachers. At last all the student teacher's gave shake hands to the beautiful souls.

The abbreviation of SUPW is Socially Useful Productive Work. SUPW aims to develop the community thinking of child and inherent creative side. SUPW also increases awareness of scientific advancements and develop a scientific outlook. The training acquired in the classroom is expected to help students to solve day-to-day problems of the community. As part of NAAC visit we got an opportunity to renovate the SUPW room and showcase our talents. At first we only had a vague idea and later on it turned out to be something more exciting than we had ever imagined. It was a great experience and we are very happy to be a part of such a venture.  We are so thankful to Deepthi Ma'am for believing us and for being a huge support.  The above wall art is a mixture of doodle art and scribble art which is based on education and creativity. 🌸 Floral Arrangement 🌸

Image
As a part of SUPW, we had a flower arrangement session taken by Elizabeth Ma'am. The session was very interesting and attractive.  Ma'am taught us about the rules and regulations regarding the flower arrangement.   In basic there are classical and natural arrangement. Beyond that there is Japanese flower arrangement which depicts the nature. Ma'am shown us the Japanese flower arrangement using kenzan pin holder that is used to insert flowers to a point. The flowers cannot be  arranged simply but there is a proportion in its height. Like, heaven is the top most point of the flower arrangement and then varying through different  angles we can place the flowers and leaves in orderly manner which enhances the beauty of the arrangement.  The top most point should be chosen such that the length of the stem should be double the width of the container plus height of the container.   She then depicted ' One flower One leaf ' arrangement an
