Team GMGHSS 🏯 #Day 1

As part of school induction we visited Government Model for Girls Higher Secondary School, Pattom. Around 9am, 14 of us (Athira, Arundathi, Raghi, Ganga, Jini, Sona, Naveena, Safana, Ashmitha, Arsna, Sreelekshmi, Nimmy, Ami and Yamuna) reached infront of the school gate having discussions regarding the visit with a little bit of fear and anxiety. I was so happy and proud to see the changes took place in the school as I was an old student of GMGHSS since 2015. 


Our team was led by Safana of Natural Science and Naveena of Maths. Captain of the ship was our dear Maya ma'am who resolved our ambiguities and guided us. Firstly we met the school principal, we handed over the permission letter and attendence register. The instructions were given by the vice principal and we were sent to the auditorium where we met the trainee teacher's and got an idea of the school atmosphere. 






During the interval time we met our respective teachers and conveyed our needs related to the school induction. Some of our friends went for classroom observation, some were assigned to collect details regarding the infrastructure and some of them went to mess for serving food.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions. It was truly an eye opening class which vanished the false thoughts of students . Then followed by a game Bombing the city, which ensured the entire participation of the students.
