Team GMGHSS #Day 4

Today GMGHSS celebrated International mother tongue day. The idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. UNESCO believes in the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity for sustainable societies.

We MTTC student teachers had a significant role in the celebration and performed various duties related to it. Today we all reached the school at 8am. We decorated the school premises and the auditorium with balloons and ribbons. The entire strength of the school was evident today. All the children came to the school after a long break, saying a little goodbye to the online mode. At 11am sharp the program started and it was inaugurated by the educational and labour minister of Kerala, Sri.V Sivankutty. One of the Student Police Cadet delivered the language pledge penned by the writer M T Vasudevan Nair during Mother Tongue Day celebrations.
