Talk on Disaster Management

On 24th November 2021 , there was a session on Disaster Management. It is a phenomenon involving extensive disruption leading risk to life, property and health to an extent.  In the talk they discussed about the two types of disasters - natural disasters and manmade disasters. The interaction went through the consequences of disaster and what we can do if we face such a dangerous situation. All the student teacher's actively participated in the session.  As a part of the session each of them were requested to submit a poster on Disaster Management.

Empathetic Values

The day began with the workshop on value education. The plenary was interesting.  Value education means teaching and learning of ideals. It actually develops the overall characteristics of a student including their actions and attitudes towards the society. We had our first activity together. Teamwork makes the dream work. We made a poster on Gender Equality. 

Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

First Assembly

Today the first assembly was organised by the first year M.Ed student teacher's .The assembly commenced with the morning prayer which is believed to give peace and serenity to our minds and souls, followed by the pledge , weekly news and thought for the day. Also a student teacher delivered a speech on Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former president of India. At the end of the assembly , campus news was shared. Finally the principal Dr.K.Y Benedict addressed the gathering  and motivated the students with his inspirational speech. The assembly was concluded with the National Anthem.

Knowing The Unknown

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. "Believe in Yourself"

Today Dr.Joju John made the day best with his inspirational speech that rejuvenated our minds. We went through lots of thought process. In the discussion he shared how a teacher should be and should not be. His words touched our hearts. The highlight of the orientation was the puzzle given to student teachers inorder to kill the inhibitions. And finally the session ended with the melodious song sung by student teacher Kavya of English.

💚Planting A Vegetable Garden💚

Gardening is a art and happiness is eating the vegetables that you grow.  Mar Theophilus Training College faculty has taken a great initiative to a new journey of planting a vegetable garden which actually made the student teacher's in bliss. Vegetable garden was officially inaugurated by our respected principal  Dr. K.Y  Benedict . All the first year student teacher's took part in the programme and planted the vegetables in agro grow bags and watered the plants.
