 I was a little tensed in the first day of the school. I reached Manacaud GHSS at 9 am to open the new chapter in my life. The children, surroundings , teachers ,buildings and everything was unfamiliar for me. The very first day itself, we were able to see the school assembly. HM Jos sir addressed the assembly.



 Unfortunately I was not able to see my guide Arun Kumar sir as he went to Kozhikode along with the students to attend Kalolsavam. After the assembly HM sir gave us the instructions and arranged the place to make us seated. He received the letter from Mar Theophilus Training College and the attendance register. In the first day , I was observing the school premises, the appearance of the students in terms of uniform and their behaviour. Also I inquired about the pattern of behavior when my friends visit each class. I had just one period on that day. Afternoon my turn came, I went 8E  in the 6th period with the intention to teach, but unfortunately I was not able to start anything. I interacted with them, shared my views with them and I conveyed about my instructions to the children regarding the notes and learning.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions. It was truly an eye opening class which vanished the false thoughts of students . Then followed by a game Bombing the city, which ensured the entire participation of the students.
