Malayalam optional of Mar Theophilus Training College organized an event based on World Theatre Day. In collaboration with 66th college union ADVITHIYA , Malayalam association Pragathi conducted a competition based on the imitation of famous dramas . 


World Theatre Day is celebrated annually on March 27, promoted by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) through its centres, and supported by theatre communities all over the world. This year, the World Theatre Day celebration will focus on the young, the next generation, the emerging artists, who have been a strong special focus of ITI in the recent past. Through this 60-year-old ITI flagship event, ITI wishes to offer the next generation of artists and art professionals a platform to exchange ideas and present themselves to the world.

History of the day:

The day was initiated by ITI, following President Arvi Kivimaa’s June 1961 proposal at the ninth World Congress of the ITI in Vienna — on behalf of the ITI’s Finnish Centre — for a World Theatre Day to be instituted. The proposal was supported by the Scandinavian centres of the ITI and publicized with enthusiasm. Since 1962, World Theatre Day has been celebrated by ITI Centres, ITI Cooperating Members, theatre professionals, theatre organizations, theatre universities and theatre lovers all over the world on the 27th of March.

In the programme അഭിനയ  English, Physical science, Maths and Natural Science optionals participated well.
The winners were announced on that day itself. The fourth position went to Maths, the third position went to English and second position went to Natural Science.
And the first 🥇 prize gone to Physical Science optional.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions. It was truly an eye opening class which vanished the false thoughts of students . Then followed by a game Bombing the city, which ensured the entire participation of the students.
