Teacher and Philosophy

Today the morning session was took by our dear Maya ma'am. She taught us about the application of philosophical aspects in education. The term 'phileo' means love and 'sophia' means wisdom. 


According to Francis Bacon philosophy is the " Great mother of all sciences". Different areas of philosophy was discussed such as metaphysics, epistemology and axiology. Education and philosophy are two sides of the same coin.
  

The next session was taken by Revathy ma'am which dealt with computer simulation. 







A mathematical model is created using computer and then computer simulation is generated which has wide applications in educational field. We heard new terminologies such as flipped classroom and blended learning.
 Afternoon session was took by Dona ma'am and we came across the essential qualities that a science teacher must have such as tolerance, empathy, enthusiastic,rational thinking,affection, aesthetic, confidence and so on.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions. It was truly an eye opening class which vanished the false thoughts of students . Then followed by a game Bombing the city, which ensured the entire participation of the students.
