New experience

As usual the day started with the motive to finish the lesson plans, but unfortunately it was a half day because of some exams held in the school. Anyway I took the substitution and went to 5A. After entering the class I came to understand that there were specially disabled students in the class. It was actually a good experience and that was the first time I interacted with students like that. There were only 3 students in the class , in that two were disabled. One girl was repeatedly asking about her friend, whether she would come, what happened to her and so on! Actually she was testing my patience unknowingly. By that time Aiswarya teacher came and we together took them to the canteen to have their breakfast. And the breakfast was uppumavv and banana. We took food for them and served it. After eating that one of them asked for a banana and I gave her. But the girl refused the banana and at last I ate. Then we went to the class and the Aiswarya teacher went in search of another teacher . Then I taught them drawing and they tried to copy that in their note book. Then they demanded to draw different pictures on the black board. Anyway it was a good experience. 
In the third period I took 5C outside the class and played different games.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions. It was truly an eye opening class which vanished the false thoughts of students . Then followed by a game Bombing the city, which ensured the entire participation of the students.
