Key number 18

 It was a hectic day for me. I was engaged for 6 periods. The first period itself I got a substitution and then 3rd and 4th period in 9D teaching current electricity. In the 5th period I went to 8 I and gave revision questions on water . Last but not the least went to 8F and took fibre and plastics. 


The highlight of the day was a task. The task was to find the key to the science lab. The school faculties were unaware about the key and they didn't know the key number. So I took a bunch of keys each time and went upstairs and had a trial on each key. Finally I opened the science lab and it was key number 18. I was so happy 😊 and I took a rheostat, voltmeter and ammeter to show my students. Also headmaster Jos sir said that he may call us to clean an the lab one day.

During class hour at 9D , my guide came and fired the students who made noise and told them to be quiet and listen to me. If anyone didn't obey ,he asked to inform him.

The special induction session was taken by Dr. G V HARI ,  a renowned teacher, KPCC chairman and  National project director at  Jawahar Bal Manch. He discussed about the value of a teacher and the dignity of the designation as a teacher. The discussion went on with the concept called energizers. The significance of energizing is to bring readiness in students so that they will receive things quickly with a good presence of mind. The session focused on the importance of student teacher interaction. We came across a new technical word called 'allegory' which means stories and 'introspection' ,that is , reflection on one's own conscious experience, to find answers to psychological questions. Educational Rights

We had a discussion on educational rights for women which involves the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The session was conducted by M.Ed student teacher's Miss Kaveri and Miss Vidhya from Department of Education . We went through the impact of society on women rights .  Later the interaction turn to a debate on whether saree is an essential ingredient for the dignity of a teacher? The discussion involved about the right to freedom, right to education, right to equality and right to speech. Then they conveyed the importance of human rights in student education . However the session ended with the mime organised by first year B.Ed students which was based on the theme "protection of human rights". As a part of the M.Ed internship we made a poster on  Life Skills.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Y Shibu, assistant commissioner of police, North zone Kozhikode, in  presence of principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir, union advisor Dr.Joju John sir and Camp coordinator Deepthi Elizabeth ma'am and union members . The events of the first day were organized by team Ikshana. After the inauguration, Mr. Y Shibu  talked about the appalling effects of narcotics and he went into the details regarding various addictions and the ways to tackle addictions among the school students.  The next session was headed by Mr. Jith from Kerala fire and safety department , which emphasized on basic fire and safety instructions.
